The Jack Orth Memorial Scholarship was set up by the Orth family in honor of the naturalist, one time director of Trailside Museums and Zoo at Bear Mountain, and lover of the Bashakill. His expertise helped develop the plant list for the Bashakill Field Guide. This $500 scholarship assists a full-time student pursuing a degree in the Environmental Science or Green Building Technology fields at SUNY Colleges of Sullivan, Ulster, or Orange Counties. Please see your Winter Guardians or this website for application details (applications are due in February every year).
